Press pause on the scrolling

We're all going to be chilling at home for at least a little while and maybe a long while – and we have to keep ourselves entertained. But scrolling through the long lists of options, on platform after platform, can be exhausting.

So, here are some jumping off points based on no reviews, scores or discourse. They're just movies worth checking out, according to me.

If you like movies that are spooky and/or unsettlingThe Invitation (Netflix), The VVitch (Netflix), Moon (Netflix), Annihilation (Hulu)

If you like movies that mix genres in a "wtf" wayThe One I Love (Netflix), The Cabin in the Woods (Hulu),  Colossal (Hulu), A Simple Favor (Hulu, Prime), I, Tonya (Hulu, Prime)

If you want to feel melancholySleeping with Other People (Netflix), Other People (Netflix),  The Spectacular Now (Netflix), Up in the Air (Hulu), The Florida Project (Prime)

Alternately, if you want to feel straight-up sad: Room (Netflix).

If you don't mind some emotions, but you want to be happy at the endThe Edge of Seventeen (Netflix), Obvious Child (Netflix), Big Fish (Hulu), The Farewell (Prime), Lady Bird (Prime), Eighth Grade (Prime)

If you just want to be entertained and hopefully not sadSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Netflix), Hell or High Water (Netflix), Booksmart (Hulu), Hearts Beat Loud (Hulu), Super 8 (Hulu, Prime), What If (Prime), Bull Durham (Prime), Long Shot (HBO Now)
